The intent of this RFP is to establish a strategic agreement with a provider (potential for multiple provider award) to provide anatomic pathology equipment provincially, and, where appropriate, pre- and post-analytic automation solutions. These solutions shall be cost effective, timely, supportable, scalable, and sustainable, to enable standardization of business processes across the Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) environment. This equipment automation solutions will be utilized for routine anatomic pathology processing. This will include the hub laboratories in Alberta the Diagnostic & Scientific Centre in Calgary and Edmonton Base Lab. The regional, metropolitan, and tertiary sites in Alberta cities, which include, but are not limited to, Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, and Red Deer, are also in scope of this RFP. Proponents who can supply the breadth and depth of testing platforms and automated sample handling solutions, with the ability to scale to the needs of APL, are requested to respond to this RFP. The provincial test matrix, along with testing volumes, will guide which piece of equipment from the Selected Proponent’s analyzers and/or pre- and post-analytical automation, that is deployed at each site. This shall be determined solely by APL.
