This is a pre-solicitation notice to announce that the Department of Interior (DOI), National Park Service (NPS), Herbert Hoover National Historic Site (HEHO), has identified a requirement for the removal and replacement of existing wood shingle roof on the Miles Farm Barn, Scellars Barn, and Schoolhouse. Wood shingles will be provided by the Government, all other materials to be provided by the contractor. Roof pattern shall be a "straight course" pattern over the entirely of the roof. This project also includes the removal and replacement of galvanized metal rain gutters on the Miles Farm Barn. All buildings are located in West Branch, IA. The successful offeror shall provide all supervision, labor, materials (except as noted above), and equipment to complete work as follows: 1. Removal and Replacement of the existing wood shingle roof on the Miles Farm Barn, including rain gutters. There is approximately 1,700 square feet of roof area. Removal and replacement of approximately 185 linear feet of 5" galvanized metal rain gutters. The barn is wood framed and three stories tall. Peak height is approximately 35 feet. Roof pitch is approximately 6/12. 2. Removal and replacement of existing wood shingle roof on the Scellars Barn. There is approximately 800 square feet of roof area. The barn is one story, wood framed structure. Peak height is approximately 17 feet. Roof pitch is approximately 6/12. 3. Removal and replacement of existing wood shingle roof on Schoolhouse. There is approximately 700 square feet of roof area. The schoolhouse is a one story, wood framed structure. Peak height is approximately 17 feet. Roof pitch is approximately 6/12. The successful offeror shall commence work within (7) seven calendar days after the issuance/receipt of a notice to proceed issued by the Government Contracting Officer. The offeror shall prosecute the work diligently in a neat and orderly manner so as to complete the work under this contract within (70) seventy calendar days after the issuance/receipt of the notice to proceed. The location of all work is at the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, West Branch, IA. If a solicitation is issued, the solicitation number will be P15PS01967. If issued, the solicitation will be released electronically on www.fbo.com. Potential offerors will be required to visit the website periodically to check for the solicitation and any amendments or other changes to documents. No other notifications will be sent. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov system prior to award of a Government contract. Offerors are further advised that failure to register in SAM will render your firm ineligible for award. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number. It is recommended that your firm register immediately in order to be eligible for award. The anticipated date when quotes will be due is approximately 14 days after the solicitation is issued.
