Historic Preservation Commission Small Grant Funding Program

The City of Cottonwood is soliciting applications for the Fiscal Year 2027 Historic Preservation Commission Small Grant Funding Program under solicitation FY27-HPC-01. This program provides financial assistance to property owners for the rehabilitation, preservation, and restoration of the exterior portions of historic buildings, structures, or sites. To be eligible, properties must be located within the Old Town Special Planning Area, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, or designated as local historic landmarks. The maximum grant award is 3,500 dollars per project, which requires a 50 percent matching cash contribution from the recipient. Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local Arizona time via the City's eProcurement portal and through a physical sealed envelope delivered to the Purchasing Division. Proposals are evaluated on a points-based system with a maximum of 80 points, placing the highest emphasis on the scope of work, which must include detailed narrative descriptions, construction plan drawings, and material lists. Funding is disbursed on a reimbursement basis following the completion of work, a successful inspection by City staff, and the submission of paid invoices. Awardees must also obtain an approved Certificate of Appropriateness before starting any work and ensure all activities comply with City Code requirements.
