Amendment 001 The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions: Question: Is a horizontal grinder ok? Answer :Yes, configurations other than a tub-style grinder are OK, provided they are at least 400 hp and are machine fed with an excavator or grapple hook. We will be cutting and removing the trees with 2 excavators. One of the excavators will have a Krypto Claw attachment, and the other will have a masticator head that can act as a saw. Consequently, these trees will be cut into approximate 10-foot lengths suitable for loading into a 25-ton articulating rock truck. As such, the trees will be generally too big to hand feed into a chipper by a crew and will need to be machine fed into a large grinder. This is the reasoning behind this requirement. Question: Can mobilization be separated from the hourly rate for grinding. Answer: Yes, a separate fixed price mobilization line item may be quoted instead of including the mobilization in the hourly rate. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Please see attachment for details This solicitation number, R16PS01565, is issued as a request for quotation.
