AI Contract Overview
The contract specifies the procurement of a stainless steel, corrosion-resistant holder designed to accommodate ringed forceps, with an overall nominal length of 5.5 inches. This holder incorporates a Weinstein design featuring a hollow short U-shaped bar that fits over a longer solid U-shaped bar, allowing for the sterilization of ring-handle instruments. Each unit holds up to 20 ringed forceps and measures approximately 5-1/2 by 3 inches. The item is intended for medical use, adhering to specific packaging and marking standards, including compliance with Medical Marking Standard No. 1 to ensure proper identification and protection during shipment. Packaging must be commercial-grade, sealed, and robust enough to prevent damage or breakage, with shipping containers suitable for acceptance and safe delivery by common carriers. The procurement requires the bidder to specify the source and part number of the supplied item, with adherence to technical and quality requirements as outlined in the Defense Logistics Agency’s master list. The contract calls for two units to be delivered within 20 days after the date of order, with all acquisitions governed by applicable DLA packaging and marking standards. The solicitation is issued by the Department of Defense’s Medical Supply Chain MD Surgical FSF office, with delivery designated to an APO address. Points of contact and further details are provided through the online DIBBS portal.
