INTRODUCTION
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Fisica Applied Technologies, Inc. (CAGE: 1TS25) for the upgrade of the horizontal polarized High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse System (HEMPS) to meet new MIL-STD testing environment requirements.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The present day Horizontal Electromagnetic Pulse Systems (HEMPS) were developed and fielded between March 2008, and January 2011 at the Patuxent Naval Air Station and White Sands Missile Range. The systems utilize advanced pulsed power technologies to produce representative electromagnetic waveforms for the early time (E1) component of the High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) environment as described in MIL-STD-2169C. The systems are being upgraded to produce equivalent waveforms for MIL-STD-2169D.
There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above.
