This project, RICN 2026-CT-025, Federal Aid Project No STP-HSIP(116), consists of 2.5 miles of roadway safety improvements on Pine Swamp Road (Rte. 114)/Wrentham Road (Rte. 121) in Cumberland, RI, including removal, disposal, and replacement of all guardrail, attenuators and other protective devices. Existing lane widths will be reduced from 12 feet to 11 feet and will include a centerline buffer that includes a mumble strip. Other roadway safety improvements include, but are not limited to, new signing, new striping, and delineators. Work also includes the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Pine Swamp Road (Rte. 114)/Wrentham Road (Rte. 121)/Diamond Hill Road (Rte. 114) and the removal of existing slip lanes. The work will also include full width micro milling and overlay on a portion of Diamond Hill Road, pavement reduction at the new signalized intersection, a new STU, and all incidentals, complete in place and accepted.
