HVAC Replacement (Station 38)

The Penryn Fire Protection District is soliciting proposals from licensed HVAC contractors for the removal and replacement of the existing rooftop packaged HVAC unit at Station 38, located in Penryn, California. The selected contractor will be responsible for evaluating the facility's heating and cooling requirements to propose an appropriately sized system, though the District is open to alternate configurations such as split systems if they provide better value. The scope of work includes furnishing and installing a new commercial unit, managing crane rigging and roof access, modifying roof curbs and duct connections, and integrating electrical, gas, condensate, and control systems. All work must meet current codes and efficiency requirements, and the contractor is responsible for all permits, regulatory approvals, and final inspections, including third-party testing such as HERS or ECC. As a public works project, the awarded contractor must comply with California public works laws, including Department of Industrial Relations registration and prevailing wage requirements. Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. on October 30, 2026, and will be evaluated based on experience, project understanding, equipment sizing and efficiency, warranties, timeframe, references, and cost. The District intends to award the contract during the November 2026 Board Director Meeting, with performance beginning as soon as reasonably practicable following execution.
