Hydrogen Fueling Station and Hesperia Transfer Hub

The Victor Valley Transit Authority is overseeing the construction of the Hesperia Transfer Hub in San Bernardino County, California. This project involves the development of a comprehensive transit facility featuring 10 bus bays with canopies, a 1,777-square foot building housing a ticket office, security office, and restrooms, and extensive parking facilities consisting of 15 guest spaces and 82 employee spaces. Additional infrastructure includes 48,323 square feet of driveway, 30,832 square feet of landscaping, and passenger benches. The project is located at Assessor's Parcel Number 0410-121-05 in the City of Hesperia. Due to the project's environmental impact, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife issued Incidental Take Permit No. 1927-ITP-2025-056-06 under the Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act and the California Endangered Species Act. This permit authorizes the incidental take of 31 western Joshua trees. Approval of the project is contingent upon the implementation of additional mitigation measures and a formal Mitigation Reporting or Monitoring Plan adopted by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to ensure environmental compliance. The project is managed by Dustin Strandberg, Chief Maintenance Officer for the Victor Valley Transit Authority.
