HYPERION: HYperspectral and Polarisation-selective Examination of Regional perfusion and Identification Of Neoplasms

The HYPERION project, managed by the Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek under solicitation KICH1.ST07.24.007, focuses on developing an advanced hyperspectral and polarisation-selective imaging system to combat public health challenges associated with cancer, diabetes, and inflammatory diseases. By revealing blood flow and tissue structures at a cellular level, the system aims to overcome the accuracy and applicability limitations of traditional MRI and CT scans, thereby reducing healthcare costs and preventing delayed treatments. Over a six-year period, the initiative will focus on the development, testing, and optimization of a prototype integrated with artificial intelligence. The ultimate goal is to provide surgeons and outpatient clinics with reliable, real-time data to improve surgical decision-making and overall patient healthcare outcomes.
