Independent Medical Examination Services for In-Custody Deaths

Napa County is issuing Request for Proposals CEO072601 for Independent Medical Examination Services for In-Custody Deaths to ensure compliance with the California FACTS Act of 2025 and Government Code Section 27491.56. Because the County operates a combined Sheriff-Coroner's Office, the law prohibits that office from determining the circumstances, manner, and cause of death for any in-custody deaths.
