This is not a solicitation announcement for quotes/proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. This sources sought notice has been issued to survey the market and assist the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in determining possible sources for consideration. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award.


The USCG is conducting market research to seek sources that have the capability to supply the item listed below:


Nomenclature: Stratasys F3300 System with Aircraft Interior Certification Solutions package

Potential sources must be Stratasys Inc., an approved source, or an authorized distributor of Stratasys, Inc.


The USCG ALC Industrial Operations Division (IOD) is seeking a replacement for the Stratasys F450 that is nearing end of life.  The software and technology required to support the Stratasys F450 is compatible with the F3300 which will eliminate the requirement for software and licensing. New software and licensing will not be considered, as this would significantly increase cost.


Stratasys is the only 3D printer found that utilized the Interior Aircraft Certified ULTEM 9085 resin to 3D print material in a large format. In accordance with (IAW) ALC Engineering Specification GEN05000.05A, additive manufactured aircraft parts are mandated to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements for flame, smoke, and toxicity standards.  ULTEM 9085 is the only thermoplastic which has been certified by the FAA.


The 3D printer being offered MUST be capable of producing large format (building envelope 23.6” x 23.6” x 31.5”) prototypes as part of the additive manufacturing process.
