Industry Day Announcement Supply Chain Illumination
Contract Overview
Solicitation details, issuing organization, response deadlines, documents, and interested companies for this government contract opportunity.
AI Contract Overview
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Armament Directorate (AFLCMC/EB) is conducting market research to identify a secure, scalable, AI-assisted federated data capability for supply chain illumination. The objective is to establish end-to-end visibility of critical munition supply chains, mapping from end items down to raw material origins across all subcontractor tiers. This capability is intended to identify risks such as bottlenecks, single points of failure, and foreign influence while providing near-real-time situational awareness through APIs and AI-assisted analytics, including machine learning and knowledge graphs. The initial focus will be on the Long-Range Weapons, Affordable Munition, and Adaptive Weapons portfolios, with the goal of integrating existing government, Service, and contractor data sources without replacing established systems. This initiative is currently in the pre-solicitation phase, as indicated by the informative posting for a virtual Industry Day scheduled for December 15, 2026. The announcement is not a Request for Proposal or a commitment to procure services but serves to gather industry feedback and identify mature commercial solutions. Interested contractors must register by November 16, 2026, by submitting company and attendee details to David Sanders. Following the Industry Day, the government may pursue further engagement through Requests for Information, white papers, or one-on-one live demonstrations to evaluate predictive analytics and risk assessment capabilities. Primary points of contact for this effort are Bryant Callahan and Patricia Chisholm.

Industry Day Announcement
Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Armament Directorate
Supply Chain Illumination Capability
Hosted by AFLCMC/EB
BLUF: AFLCMC/EB requires a secure, scalable, AI-assisted federated data capability that integrates but not unnecessarily replaces existing government, Service, and contractor data sources. The capability must provide end-to-end supply-chain mapping, risk identification and assessment, near-real-time situational awareness, mitigation tracking, and evidence-based decision support for priority munition programs, initially within the Long-Range Weapons, Affordable Munition, and Adaptive Weapons portfolios, with potential expansion across the Armament Directorate portfolio.
1. Introduction
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Armament Directorate (EB), plans to conduct a virtual Industry Day to conduct market research and obtain industry feedback regarding a potential Supply Chain Illumination capability for the munitions enterprise.
The Armament Directorate is pursuing an artificial intelligence-assisted, federated data capability to map critical munition supply chains to raw-material sources. The intended capability would provide enterprise-level visibility into supply-chain dependencies, bottlenecks, supplier risks, competing demands, and mitigation actions in support of senior-leader decision-making and mission outcomes.
This Industry Day is intended to inform the Government’s market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10 and help identify mature, scalable commercial and non-traditional solutions that can support the Directorate’s supply-chain visibility requirements. This announcement does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), solicitation, commitment, or promise to issue a solicitation in the future.
2. Background
The Armament Directorate currently lacks an integrated mechanism to assess critical supply-chain risk across its acquisition divisions, military Services, and contractor-supported weapon systems. Existing data sources are fragmented (data lives in siloed systems), contractor logistics support arrangements can limit visibility into multi-tier supply chains, and shared dependencies across military and commercial demand can create unanticipated production risk.
The Government seeks to improve end-to-end visibility of materials, suppliers, production dependencies, single points of failure, foreign-source dependencies, and mitigation actions across priority munition portfolios down to the raw materials at the lowest of sub-tier suppliers. The initial proof of concept is expected to focus on PAE-prioritized programs within the Long-Range Weapons, Affordable Munition, and Adaptive Weapons portfolios, with potential expansion across the Armament Directorate weapon-system portfolio.
3. Industry Day Objectives
The Government seeks industry feedback on approaches to establish a secure, scalable Supply Chain Illumination capability that can:
- Map supply chains from end item to raw-material origin for critical munition programs, through all tiers of subcontractors.
- Federate existing government, Service, and contractor data sources without unnecessarily replacing established systems.
- Identify and assess supply-chain risks, including bottlenecks, single points of failure, constrained materials, supplier financial and manufacturing risk, foreign influence, and competing demands.
- Support data-sharing standards and interfaces that protect legitimate competition sensitive information while providing the Government sufficient visibility for risk management and decision support.
- Enable near-real-time situational awareness through application programming interfaces and other appropriate data-exchange mechanisms.
- Apply AI-assisted analytics, including machine-learning and knowledge-graph approaches, to identify relationships, risks, and mitigation options across complex, multi-tier supply chains.
- Track mitigation actions through end-item delivery and produce evidence suitable for waiver assessments and senior-leader decision-making.
- Integrate with relevant enterprise architectures and platforms, including existing Air Force, Army, Navy, and digital Bill of Materials efforts, as appropriate.
4. Event Details for the Virtual Industry Day Open to All Contractors
- Date: 15 December 2026
- Time: 0900hrs CST
- Location/Platform: Teams Link
- Classification: Unclassified
- Registration Deadline: 16 November 2026
The Government will provide an overview of the operational problem, desired endstate, preliminary technical considerations, and potential next steps. The agenda may also include question-and-answer sessions and opportunities for industry participants to provide oral or written feedback.
5. Registration and Participation
Registration is required. Interested organizations should submit the following information no later than 16 November 2026:
- Company name
- Company address
- Attendee name, title, email address, and telephone number
- Identification of the company’s primary point of contact
- A brief description of the company’s relevant capability or experience
- Any requested accessibility or administrative support requirements
Submit registration information to: SMO Code: AFLCMC EB, David Sanders +1 (555) 000-0000.
6. Follow-On Engagement
Following Industry Day, the Government may issue a Request for Information, schedule one-on-one market-research discussions, request white papers, or conduct other market-research activities for live demonstrated capabilities only. Participation in Industry Day is not required for participation in any future acquisition or market-research activity unless expressly stated in a future notice.
7. Individual Demonstration Sessions
Although not required, contractors may request one-on-one discussions for the sole purpose of providing a live demonstration that addresses the following questions for munitions:
- Supply Chain Risk: Which suppliers, components, and lower-tier dependencies present the greatest risk to weapon system readiness and production schedules?
- Operational Performance: How do suppliers lead times, material availability, and supply chain disruptions influence production delays and repair turnaround times?
- Investment Prioritization: Which supply chain vulnerabilities should receive priority investment to improve production capacity, reduce delays, and strengthen operational readiness?
- Predictive Analytics: To what extent can historical supplier performance, component lead times, and material shortages predict future supply chain disruptions?
To coordinate a one-on-one session with the Government, contract Bryant Callahan, as shown in paragraph 9. Any one-on-one session will be scheduled after the Virtual Industry Day on15 December 2026.
8. Informational Notice
THIS IS AN INFORMATIVE POSTING. This announcement is issued solely for planning and market research purposes. It does not constitute RFP, solicitation, contract, or commitment by the Government to procure any supply or service. The Government is not requesting proposals currently.
