The General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Travel and Transportation is preparing to issue a solicitation for the ETS2 contract, which represents the second procurement phase of the Electronic Travel Service system. This system supports travel booking, lodging, rental cars, and voucher services specifically for Civilian Federal Government agencies outside the Department of Defense. To facilitate this procurement, GSA is conducting an Industry Day scheduled for October 30, 2009, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time at their office in Crystal City, Arlington, Virginia. The purpose of this meeting is to provide potential vendors with detailed information about the government’s requirements, regulations, and business model, as well as to communicate anticipated goals and objectives of the ETS2 program. This event also aims to identify additional sources interested in participating when the solicitation is released, tentatively in January 2010. Attendance for the Industry Day is limited to a maximum of 80 participants, with a request that firms send no more than two representatives. Interested parties must RSVP in advance with the GSA point of contact, Karen VanBuskirk, to secure a place, as failure to RSVP may result in denial of entry due to space constraints. The solicitation involves primarily IT services in NAICS Code 541512 and is managed by the GSA’s Office of Acquisition Operations in Washington, DC, with performance expected in Arlington, VA. The contracting officer for this procurement is Jeffrey M. Meyers, and all communications regarding attendance or procurement details are encouraged to be directed to the designated GSA contacts.
