Coconino County has issued a formal request for proposals (RFP 2024-119) seeking vendors to provide an inmate phone system, video visitation services, and inmate tablets for the county detention facility. The solicitation emphasizes a competitive process where proposals will be evaluated based on conformity to requirements, quality, past performance, and overall benefit to the county, rather than solely on cost. Interested vendors are encouraged to attend a non-mandatory virtual pre-proposal meeting scheduled for May 29, 2024, and must submit their proposals by June 12, 2024. The contract size is estimated to range between 500,000 and 2 million dollars, and the project aims to enhance communication and technological services within the detention facility. Proposal documents are accessible online via Ion Wave Technologies, and the county retains the discretion to reject proposals if deemed in the public interest. The procurement process is managed by the Coconino County Purchasing Department, with Lindsay Daley serving as the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. The contract will be awarded based on the best overall value, considering factors such as product quality, vendor performance history, and service capabilities. The county’s approach ensures transparency and competitiveness, with proposals opening publicly but detailed evaluations conducted privately before the final award decision. This initiative aligns with the county’s broader efforts to modernize detention services and improve operational efficiencies through innovative communication solutions.
