The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to award a sole source contract to Automed, a subsidiary of AmeriSource Bergen, for the installation and integration of hardware upgrades to the proprietary OptiFill II automated medication dispensing system. The primary objective of this project is to transition the existing obsolete pneumatic powered system to an electric powered system. This upgrade encompasses all necessary hardware to support the new power system, the addition of hand-held restocking terminals, and the replacement of discontinued printers. All components must remain compatible with the OptiFill II system and strictly adhere to FDA requirements for the marketing and delivery of medical products in the United States, regardless of the final delivery location. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and the test program for commercial items, classified under NAICS code 333298. While the government intends to negotiate with Automed as the only responsible source, it is accepting capability statements from other interested parties to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted. Interested respondents must submit technical data and cost information via email to the designated contract specialist. The performance of the work is located in Pensacola, Florida, and the procurement is managed by the Department of Defense.
