The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in Charleston plans to award a sole source modification valued at approximately $360,000 to Coastal Surveillance Systems, LLC, under an existing contract. This modification focuses on integrating an additional radar and video surveillance capability into the current system supporting Tactical Operations Centers, which are critical for ongoing security operations. Coastal Surveillance Systems is uniquely qualified due to their specialized knowledge of the existing radar and video equipment, making them the only viable source for the required engineering, design, integration, testing, and on-site training. The modification is necessary to ensure the radar and video system maintains a common operating picture, enhancing the effectiveness of security operations. This is not a solicitation for proposals because the task demands specific expertise held solely by the incumbent contractor. Interested parties were notified that responses related to this announcement must be submitted by August 25, 2008. The contract and modification efforts are managed through the Department of Defense’s Niwc Atlantic office located in North Charleston, South Carolina.
