Alachua County Board of County Commissioners has issued a notice for a sole source procurement to Ag-Pro Co., the authorized John Deere equipment dealer in North Central Florida. The county's primary goal is to standardize mowing equipment across multiple departments to reduce repair costs, streamline inventory management, and minimize equipment downtime. Since parts for John Deere agricultural and lawn equipment are typically only available through authorized distributors, the county intends to contract directly with Ag-Pro Co. to ensure reliable access to genuine parts, sales, and service. The procurement process is justified by the need for consistent, authorized support for their standardized equipment fleet.
