The Government has issued a notice to inform industry and members of the Robotics Technology Consortium about its planned Request for Project Proposals (RPP) related to Ground Robotics research, specifically focusing on Cargo Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs). This announcement serves solely for planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or an award opportunity at this time. The intent is to provide advance notification to potential participants that a formal RPP will be forthcoming. The RPP, identified by solicitation number W15QKN-08-9-0001-RPP7, will be issued through the Robotics Technology Consortium’s Administrative Agent, the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, who will distribute the RPP to consortium members. This initiative traces back to a 2007 Government plan to enter into an Other Transaction Agreement with a single consortium to support Ground Robotics research and development projects. Following the Ground Robotics Industry Day in early 2008, the Robotics Technology Consortium was formed and now stands as the primary entity through which the Government intends to award project contracts resulting from proposals submitted in response to the upcoming RPP. The Department of Defense office overseeing this process is located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Interested parties can find more information and explore consortium membership via the Robotics Technology Consortium website.
