The Department of Defense intends to issue a Request for Project Proposals (RPP) under an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) focused on Ground Robotics research and development, specifically targeting Unmanned Ground Systems. This notification serves solely as an advance planning announcement to inform members of the Robotics Technology Consortium and the wider industry of upcoming opportunities; no project awards will be made directly from this announcement. The effort stems from prior Government initiatives including the establishment of the Robotics Technology Consortium following an industry day held in early 2008, which consolidates participants for collaboration in this domain. When issued, the formal Request for Project Proposals (solicitation number W15QKN-08-9-0001-RPP10) will be routed through the Consortium’s administrative agent, the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, which will then distribute it among Consortium members. The goal is to fund projects that advance ground robotics technologies through competitive proposals from qualified consortium members. Interested parties are encouraged to engage with the Robotics Technology Consortium to participate in the upcoming RPP. The contracting office handling this initiative is based at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, under the Department of Defense.
