Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source being available to meet the Government's needs, to: BIOMERIEUX , INC. 100 RODOLPHE ST DURHAM, NC, 27712-9402 UNITED STATES The NAICS code for this requirement is 339113; the business size standard is 750 (# of employees). The following items are needed: BacT Alert FA Plus, QTY: 80boxes, BacT Alert FN Plus, QTY: 80 boxes, BacT Alert PF Plus, QTY: 40 boxes. Blood culture bottles are a key tool for diagnosis of bloodstream infections for critically ill patients. Only Biomerieux laboratory consumables are certified to function correctly with the Biomerieux Analyzer at Naval Medical Center San Diego laboratory. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for the requirement.
