AI Contract Overview
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) plans to enter into negotiations with Sartorius for the procurement of the Octet® R2 system, a specialized biomolecular detection instrument that enables label-free, real-time analysis. The purpose of acquiring this system is to advance the development of PET ligands that target pathogenic molecules, facilitating the identification of pathogen reservoirs in both animal models and human patients. This capability aims to enhance the understanding of disease mechanisms by providing rapid and precise quantitation and kinetic measurements of novel radiotracers. The acquisition includes system installation, onsite training, and transfer tools to ensure proper integration and user proficiency. This procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, stating that only Sartorius can meet the agency's specific requirements.
