GENERAL
This Notice of Intent is not a Request for Competitive Quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 7 intends to make a sole source award to Berkeley County at 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner, South Carolina 29461 for the following:
The contractor shall provide legal assistance for involuntary commitments of veterans at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC (Berkeley County). This includes helping veterans with mental health paperwork and appointing an attorney as their Guardian ad Litem (GAL) to protect their rights during hearings. These services are used to involuntarily commit veterans to mental health facilities when in their best interest. Based on historical data, about 63 hearings are expected each year. The contract will be a firm fixed price for one year, with four one-year option periods starting October 1, 2026.

AUTHORITY AND PROCEDURES

Documentation that only one source is available has been prepared.
