Islais Creek Bridge Project

The City and County of San Francisco is advancing the replacement of the structurally deteriorated and seismically deficient Islais Creek Bridge along Third Street, with construction anticipated to begin in summer 2027. Instead, requirements are embedded within mitigation measures addressing air quality thresholds, debris containment, historic documentation to HAER standards, and protocols for halting work upon discovery of archaeological or cultural resources or during herring spawning seasons.
