ITB 2027-005 Commercial Fire Sprinkler Preventative Maintenance, Inspection, Testing, and Service

The Calvert County Government is soliciting bids under ITB 2027-005 for commercial fire sprinkler preventative maintenance, inspection, testing, and service. The scope of work includes scheduled preventative maintenance and on-call services for various facilities, including the Calvert Marine Museum and other regional sites. All work must adhere to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, specifically NFPA 25 for inspection and testing procedures. The contract is for an initial one-year term with the option for four additional one-year renewals, featuring automatic renewal unless a non-renewal notice is provided 90 days prior to the anniversary date. To be eligible, contractors must have at least three years of experience under the same company name and ownership and hold Maryland State Fire Marshall fire sprinkler licenses for Class I and Class IIIc. Personnel must possess NICET certifications, with Level II or higher for inspection and maintenance and Level III or higher for layout. Additional requirements include a one-year warranty on workmanship, comprehensive general liability and workers' compensation insurance, and mandatory criminal background checks and fingerprinting for all employees. Bidders must submit a complete price proposal for all sites along with six required certification forms and license copies by the November 16, 2026, deadline. Payment is processed within 30 business days of invoice receipt, and installed parts are billed at actual cost plus a 10% markup.
