This base will then be surfaced with two lifts of Type FC 12.5 Asphalt, with materials and mix designs pre-approved by FDOT. The scope includes all labor, materials, equipment, and testing necessary for the completion of the FDR and resurfacing, with pavement markings adhering to MUTCD standards. Additional incidental work includes pavement markings, milling, shoulder grading, and vegetation removal, all considered part of the contract. The project is funded through an FDOT SCOP Grant and will be awarded as a unit price bid contract. Bidders must demonstrate recent experience with similar FDR projects exceeding $500,000, possess or obtain FDOT pre-qualification in relevant categories, and submit an approved asphalt mix design with their bid. The contractor must also have certified personnel on-site during all phases of work, including work zone safety certification. Equipment requirements specify the use of specialized reclamation machinery capable of pulverizing and stabilizing pavement to a depth of at least 15 inches, with provisions for asphalt emulsion injection and uniform mixing. The contract emphasizes compliance with FDOT specifications, proper project documentation, and adherence to safety and environmental standards throughout the project duration.
