Iwatsu Phone System

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Northern Plains Area (NPA), intends to award a sole source simplified, fixed price acquisition to The Phone Connection located at 410 Houston Street, Manhattan KS 66502. The purpose is to install and maintain an Iwatsu phone system that will provide connectivity to outlying buildings over the existing cabling infrastructure. This system also has the ability to provide any Unified Communications capabilities that may be required in the future without the need to replace the existing hardware. Additionally, as new technology becomes available, it will be provided through software updates without the need to purchase additional hardware. The Iwatsu telephone system also provides the capability to provide service for future scientists that may be co-located at this facility or the further expansion of voice needs, along with the capability to provide any required voice services for individuals located off-site at the main campus of Kansas State University. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. Vendors that believe they can provide a product that fully meets the Government's requirements are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact by May 7, 2010. This notice is for informational and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. A determination by the Government not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
