The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Siemens, 186 Wood Ave., S. Iselin, NJ 08830 for emergency repairs to the Siemens Magnetom Verio MRI located at the VA's University Drive Medical Center, University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (only 1 responsible source) and 6.302-2 (unusual and compelling urgency) as it is believed that only Siemens can perform the necessary emergency repairs and because there is otherwise insufficient time for any attempted competition. This notice of intent is not for competitive quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 334510. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document is available.
