Sources Sought Notice: Endoworks Support and Maintenance DESCRIPTION: This is a sources sought to determine the availability of potential sources having the skills and capabilities necessary to provide the SPECIFIED REQUIREMENT. All interested vendors are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought including commercial market information. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a sources sought synopsis only. Questions should be submitted by email to

The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classifications (Service Disabled/Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB/VOSB), Hub zone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged, woman owned small business, FSS/GSA contract schedule holders or large business) relative to NAICS 334614, Software and Other Prerecorded Compact Disc, Tape, and Record Reproducing (size standard 750 employees). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on the FBO website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought announcement. SPECIFIED REQUIREMENT: Network Contracting Office 7, Charleston, SC is seeking sources for a potential contractor to perform the following type of service: 1. Title of Project: Olympus Endoworks Support and Maintenance 2. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to provide maintenance on the Olympus Endoworks network. 3. Background: The medical center currently utilizes medical equipment manufactured by Olympus. It has been determined that the original manufacturer is required to repair the device. The equipment is used daily in delivering safe patient care and failures require immediate repair. Downtime can cause significant delays to patient care and can prevent a timely diagnosis. 4. Performance Period: The contractor shall complete the work required under this SOW during October 1, 2013 - September 30, 2014, unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). 5. Type of Contract: Firm-Fixed-Price SCOPE 1. Vendor shall provide the following: a. Preventative Maintenance: i. Preventative maintenance will be carried out according to the manufacturer's recommended schedule. Preventative maintenance generally includes checking mechanical and electrical safety, lubrication, functional testing and adjusting for optimum performance as specified in the detailed preventative maintenance work plan. b. Remedial Maintenance: i. Vendor shall provide remedial maintenance service on the equipment when requested by the Customer, as well as planned maintenance inspections, when scheduled in order to keep the Equipment operating in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. c. Replacement Parts: i. Vendor shall supply at its own expense, necessary parts, provided replacement of the parts is required because of normal wear and tear or otherwise deemed necessary by vendor and VA. All Parts will be new, standard parts, or used, reworked or refurbished parts that comply with applicable performance and reliability specifications. d. Software Maintenance: i. Vendor shall provide all maintenance and updates for Olympus operating system software. Such updates will solely enhance previously purchased capacities of the Equipment. Operating system software upgrades that provide new features or capabilities or that require hardware changes will be offered to VA at purchase prices established by Olympus. In addition, some upgrades may require Applications Training performed by Olympus personnel that will be offered at prevailing rates. REQUESTED INFORMATION: (1) STATEMENT OF CABABILITY: Submit a brief description, five (5) pages or less, that demonstrates how your company has the supervision, facilities, labor and experience to perform the scheduled and unscheduled repairs and preventative maintenance of the equipment described above. Include past experience in performing these services to the VA, other Government (Federal or State) agency, or for a private facility. Please specify your availability to start date and your address.
