AI Contract Overview

NASA's Johnson Space Center White Sands Test Facility intends to renew a sole-source purchase order with Schlumberger Water Services USA, Inc. for the maintenance and service of the Westbay water sampling system. This agreement is essential for ensuring compliance with the sampling mandates of NASA's Hazardous Waste Permit. Because the design of the groundwater systems is proprietary, all necessary replacement equipment, repairs, spare parts, and calibrations are available exclusively through Schlumberger Water System Westbay Instruments, Inc. The procurement is being conducted as a commercial item acquisition under FAR Part 12. While the government intends to proceed with a sole-source award, interested organizations were given the opportunity to submit their capabilities and qualifications by September 12, 2012, to determine if the procurement should be opened for competition. The final decision to compete the effort remains at the sole discretion of the government.
