AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of six units of an angular indicator repair or modification item, identified by NSN 7H-6320-014984954 and TDP version 004, with delivery terms FOB origin to Dynalec Corporation in Sodus, New York. The Government intends to award this contract as a sole-source negotiation under FAR 6.302-1, meaning it will negotiate exclusively with one supplier due to the unique nature of the item and the uneconomical cost of acquiring data rights or reverse engineering the product. Although this is not a request for competitive bids, other interested parties may express their interest and submit quotations or capability statements within specified timeframes; such submissions will be considered to determine whether a competitive procurement process is warranted. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense’s Naval Supply Systems Weapon Systems Support office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Supporting documentation related to military and federal standards, qualified product lists, and other standardized documents can be accessed via the DoD Single Stock Point and ASSIST-Online platforms, though certain drawings and deviation lists are not provided through these sources. The Government has opted not to use commercial item acquisition procedures for this procurement. Interested parties are encouraged to identify their capability to meet the requirement, particularly with commercial items, within 15 days of this notice. The procurement approach emphasizes discretion on the Government’s part to decide on competitive solicitation based on market feedback.
