J--MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE MODEL NUMBER S-4800

NASA/JSC has a requirement for a MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE Model number S-4800.

NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from HITACHI HIGH TECHNOLOGY

This procurement is for the renewal of a yearly service/ maintenance agreement with Hitachi for the Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM)Model number S-4800. As the original manufacturer and vendor for the equipment, Hitachi is the only practical source for this service/maintenance agreement due to its unique knowledge and capability in regard to the SEM. Proper maintenance and rapid troubleshooting requires a familiarity with the characteristic of the instrument and the ability to service the instrument with access to replacement parts as needed.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Lamar Mueller at contact@example.gov not later then noon local time on December 13, 2013. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
