The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement plans to issue a sole-source purchase order to Kaman Aerospace Corporation for a repair estimate on a K-Max 1200 Helicopter damaged during a training accident. This repair assessment will cover the entire airframe structure, skin, and engine. Since these helicopters were originally purchased as commercial items under warranty, any repairs or maintenance must be performed by Kaman Aerospace Corporation or authorized sources to avoid voiding the warranty. The repair services will mirror those provided by Kaman to their commercial customers and will be conducted at their Bloomfield, Connecticut facility. The acquisition is simplified with an estimated value of under $50,000. This notice serves to inform interested parties of the upcoming sole-source procurement but is not a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. Responses from other firms will be considered only in deciding whether to pursue a competitive procurement, with the final decision resting solely with the government. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be followed, and commercial item acquisition rules apply. All inquiries must be submitted in writing via email to the designated Contract Specialist, Lisa C. Goodwine, with no telephone requests accepted. The Contracting Officer overseeing this requirement is Vincent J. Chaverini Jr.
