The Social Security Administration (SSA) conducted a competitive sourcing study under the revised OMB Circular A-76 to evaluate the provision of electronics technician services for its broadcast television production system. The streamlined competition, which began on July 1, 2005, and concluded on August 19, 2005, involved one full-time government employee currently performing the work at 6401 Security Boulevard in Baltimore, Maryland. The study sought to identify the low-cost service provider, ultimately determining that the agency provider was the lowest cost option. As a result, a Letter of Obligation will be awarded to the agency provider, affirming continued government performance of the services without issuing a new solicitation. Key officials involved in this process include Jo Anne B. Barnhart, SSA Commissioner, as the Competitive Sourcing Official, Randy Pickwell as the Contracting Officer and point of contact, and Tom Tobin as the Administrative Technical Officer. The announcement clarifies that no solicitation will follow this competition and directs any questions or comments exclusively to the designated Contract Specialist via email. The activity falls under NAICS code 811213, relating to computer and office equipment repair and maintenance, and is managed through the SSA Office of Acquisition Grants.
