AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of seven units of a specific item identified by NSN 7H-4320-015176868, with technical documentation version 002, to be delivered FOB origin to Woodward Governor Company located in Loveland, Colorado. This procurement is part of a planned repair or modification of servo valves used in pumps. The Government intends to negotiate exclusively with a single source, indicating this is a sole-source procurement rather than a competitive bidding process. While other entities may express interest and submit quotes, the Government retains full discretion on whether to allow competition, primarily considering responses to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted. The solicitation, identified as N0010413PCB54 and posted by the Department of Defense's Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, is marked as a presolicitation notice. The Government indicates that it does not possess sufficient or accurate data to procure these parts from sources other than the current supplier, suggesting a dependence on the incumbent source for specialized or unique components. This arrangement underscores the criticality and possible proprietary nature of the parts or services sought, emphasizing the need for negotiation with the existing source rather than opening the contract to multiple suppliers.
