This contract involves the procurement of two units of a rail assembly safety part identified by NSN 7H-2030-012335505, version TDP 001, with delivery terms specified as FOB origin. The intended recipient of the items is Oldenburg Group Inc., located in Kingsford, Michigan. The contract action is a notice of intent rather than a solicitation for competitive quotes, indicating the government’s plan to negotiate exclusively with a single source due to the lack of adequate data or rights to acquire the part from multiple suppliers. Although interested parties may express their interest or submit quotes, the government retains full discretion on whether to proceed competitively. The procurement is managed by the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support Mechanical division, part of the Department of Defense, based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The notice is classified as a presolicitation and does not specify set-aside status or a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. The primary purpose of this action is the repair or modification of the rail assembly safety component, and the government will consider any information received solely to determine if a competitive procurement is viable. This approach underscores the specialized nature of the part and the government’s intent to maintain a streamlined acquisition process with a single qualified supplier.
