The contract involves the procurement of two units of the receiver-transmitter identified by NSN 7G-5895-016421718, to be delivered FOB origin to Argon ST Inc. in Newington, VA. This action is a notice of intent to negotiate exclusively with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 due to the specialized nature of the manufacturing and testing required for the ultra-precision components. The production demands unique test and inspection facilities that ensure system integrity and precision, which cannot be economically or reliably replicated by competitors or documented for general use. Although the Government invites interested parties to express their capabilities or submit quotations, it is not seeking competitive quotes, and any decision to forego competition remains at the Government's discretion. Interested parties are directed to obtain relevant military and federal specifications or standards through official channels such as the DoD Single Stock Point or online resources like ASSIST-Online for further details. The solicitation, identified by number N0010418PLA67 and posted on January 31, 2018, is managed by the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support, based in Mechanicsburg, PA. Responses will be considered within specified timeframes, but this procurement is not governed by commercial acquisition policies under FAR Part 12. The Government encourages interested and capable entities to communicate their interest, but any determination to pursue competitive procurement will depend solely on the information received.
