The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the Warfighter Protection and Aerial Delivery Directorate (WARPAD), intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Harris Weathering Products, Inc. for the renewal of preventative maintenance and calibration services of Atlas laboratory equipment, specifically the weatherometer and fadeometer systems. These services are essential to comply with commercial test methods mandated by acquisition reform, including AATCC Test Method 16 for Colorfastness to Light and Test Method 169 for Weathering Resistance. The contract ensures continuous and accurate testing capabilities without any service interruptions, thereby supporting high-quality certification standards necessary for military and commercial fabric testing. Harris Weathering Products, Inc. is uniquely qualified as the authorized sales and service representative for Atlas Material Testing Technology, LLC in the Northeast and the current provider of these specialized maintenance services. No market research was conducted since this procurement is a renewal contract aimed at avoiding any lapse in service that could impact test data accuracy and reliability. The agency affirms no actions are planned to remove barriers to competition since this sole source procurement is justified by the proprietary nature of the equipment and services provided. Interested parties have the option to express their interest by contacting the contract specialist before the specified deadline.
