This notice is published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401, intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of VAAR 819.7008, Sole Source Awards to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. This notice satisfies the public posting requirement of FAR 5.101. The intended awardee is Standard Communications Inc. (SCI). Place of performance is the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and associated Charleston facilities. The Ralph H. Johnson VA Healthcare System requires middleware integration of the SPOK Messenger and Operator Console with the existing life safety communications system, including equipment, programming, and integration services. SCI is the only SDVOSB vendor authorized by Vocera Communications to integrate SPOK middleware into the Vocera platform and is the only authorized source for the required Jeron nurse call components.
