Pre-Solicitation Notice for the notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. Regional Procurement Office (RPO) - East intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Thermo Fisher Scientific, LLC, located at 275 Aiken Road, Asheville, North Carolina, for the J VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS - Seattle) for equipment moving/relocation/calibration and preventative maintenance services. Background: Requirement is to move the FEI transmission electron microscope (TEM) Tecnai G2 Spirit from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), New York, New York, to VAPSHCS in Seattle, WA. The services consist of two requirements: 1) preparing the TEM for shipping, unpacking TEM, re-assembling TEM and 2) Annual comprehensive maintenance service for one (1) year.
Thermo Fisher Scientific s electron microscopic division was formerly FEI Company, the original manufacturer of the FEI transmission electron microscope (TEM) Tecnai 12 Spirit. The FEI Company is now a subsidiary of Thermo Fisher Scientific. No other company has the expertise to perform the 1st part of the contract disassembly and reassembly. All services must be provide by OEM certified technicians who have previous experience with the Tecnai G2 Spirit.
Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to SAM.gov Contract Opportunities. The applicable NAICS code is 811210 Electonic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a $34.0M size standard. The PSC is J066. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
