This firm fixed price purchase order, solicitation number 12639522P0409, is issued by the Department of Agriculture for the procurement of JARVIS brand captive bolt kits, powerload charges, and related accessories. These materials are specifically required for the depopulation of swine during the African Swine Fever response in Puerto Rico. The total cost encompasses all overhead, general and administrative expenses, profit, insurance, and transportation. The contract is awarded as a single source to Bunzl Processor Division, LLC, the exclusive U.S. distributor of the JARVIS handheld stunner line. This procurement method was chosen because the JARVIS system is the only product for which agency responders are trained and certified, and it maintains consistency with over 300 kits already held in the National Veterinary Stockpile. The equipment will be managed by the Incident Management Team and operated by certified personnel during a national emergency.
