Full Description

The Bureau of the Public Debt, on behalf of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) intends to award an order to Oracle Corporation for Java 6 SE Software Support. Oracle Corporation is the sole provider of the Java 6 SE Software Support. The Java 6 SE Software Support is proprietary to Oracle Corporation and they have no resellers/distributors for this product. The Java 6 SE Support allows OCC employees to access mission critical applications within the IT infrastructure and resolve any issues with the Oracle Java products. Java is a key component to many applications at OCC and cannot be substituted with any other technology without fully replacing several key systems. Several of those applications are COTS based and at this time those vendors do not certify nor support Java version 7. This support enables the OCC the IT department to perform its mission to ensure a stable and competitive national banking system, as well as, provide financial performance and credit strength of the various industries and companies. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received no later than 2:00 PM ET on April 15, 2013. Responses shall be submitted to PSB3@bpd.treas.gov; Attention: SPottmeyer / BCooper. Responses shall include, at a minimum, the following information: 1. The name of your company; 2. Company DUNS No.; 3. POC name and contact information; 4. The specific product(s) that your company offers that fulfills the same function as the items to be included on this order or evidence that your company is capable of providing a renewal for the specific items mentioned above; and, 5. A description of that product(s) and its overall capabilities. It is your responsibility to demonstrate how your product(s) is capable of providing the same functionality that exists with the Oracle products mentioned above. The Government will not seek additional information from your company if you fail to provide sufficient evidence of having a product cable of meeting the Government's needs. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government's Contracting Officer. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
