Sealed proposals will be received electronically via the PennBid Program by the City of Altoona, Department of Public Works, for the following project:
IMPROVEMENTS AND UPGRADES OF LOGAN BLVD & BEALE AVE TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS
Bids will be received until 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 2, 2026, local prevailing time, at which time they will be publicly opened with results made available on PennBid.
Work performed on this project to be as per current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Publication 408, as amended and revised.
Bidding documents are available at no cost on PennBid (https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com)
Either an original Certified Check, Official Check, Cashier’s Check, or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the "City of Altoona" equal to ten (10%) percent of the amount of the bid must be submitted with the proposal. Note that the Bid Bond must be in effect for a period of sixty (60) days from the bid opening date.
Mayor and City Council reserve the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality not material to the bid and to award the contract as may be deemed to the best interest of the City of Altoona.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
A pre-bidder’s conference will be held in the Bernard J. Joyce Engineering Conference Room, City Hall, 1301 – 12th Street, Suite 304, Altoona, PA on Thursday, May 7, 2026, beginning at 9:30 A.M., local prevailing time.
Work performed on this project will be subject to prevailing wage rates as established by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
