Justification of Sole Source Acquisition from Verathon, Inc.

The City of Clermont issued Request for Information RFI 27-004 on September 9, 2026, to verify the validity of a sole source acquisition from Verathon, Inc. for the GlideScope Go 2 portable video laryngoscopy system and related accessories. This equipment is intended for emergency and prehospital airway management and must feature an EMS-certified, IP67-rated handheld monitor, Dynamic Light Control, magnetic QuickConnect technology, and onboard recording capabilities, with full compatibility with Verathon Spectrum QC single-use video laryngoscopes. The estimated annual expenditure for this acquisition is 35,000 dollars. Verathon, Inc. has provided a certification of sole source provider status based on specific US patents and part numbers. The purpose of this RFI is to determine if other vendors can provide equivalent products to avoid a non-competitive purchase. Responses are due by September 30, 2026, and must be submitted electronically via the OpenGov portal. All respondents must be registered and licensed to conduct business in the State of Florida. If a qualified alternative source is identified, the City may discontinue the sole source process and initiate a competitive solicitation.
