Kaliner Trust Additions

The Kaliner Trust Additions project, identified as Case No. 22CDH-00000-00032, is a request for a Coastal Development Permit with Hearing for a 0.48-acre parcel located at 1086 Channel Drive in the Montecito Community Plan Area of Santa Barbara County. The scope of work involves the demolition of 100 gross square feet of an existing single-family dwelling and a 440 gross square foot detached garage. In their place, the project will construct a 485 gross square foot attached garage, an 85 gross square foot addition to the dwelling, and a 2,165 gross square foot partially underground basement. Additional improvements include a 32 by 12 foot pool and approximately 2,010 square feet of new outdoor patio areas. The project includes 515 cubic yards of cut and fill grading to be balanced on-site, with no trees proposed for removal. The property is zoned 1-E-1 and will continue to be served by the Montecito Water, Sanitary, and Fire Protection Districts, with access provided via Fairway Drive. Under the California Environmental Quality Act, the project has been granted a Notice of Exemption as of October 10, 2023, because the alterations are considered minor and will not result in significant environmental impacts.
