AI Contract Overview

The United States Army Corps of Engineers in Savannah, Georgia, is seeking the procurement of two Knudsen mini-sounder fathometers to support the Operation-Navigation Management Branch. These single-channel echosounders feature a user-selectable frequency range of 24-210 kHz, a watertight diecast aluminum enclosure, and up to 1kW output. The package includes the Windows SounderSuite USB software, interface cables, and a user manual. This acquisition is being conducted as a sole source solicitation under a fixed-price contract using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The government has determined that Knudsen Engineering Limited is the only viable source because all existing survey vessels in the Savannah District utilize Knudsen transducers, and other brands would cause compatibility issues. While this is a sole source effort, interested parties providing equal products may submit technical specifications and pricing for consideration in future requirements.
