Kone Traction Elevator Preventive Maintenance Service

The U.S. Embassy in Harare is soliciting a firm fixed price contract for comprehensive preventive maintenance services on its Kone traction elevators, requiring the contractor to ensure all equipment operates safely, reliably, and in full compliance with the manufacturer’s specifications. The scope includes monthly inspections, emergency repairs, component replacements, load testing, and maintenance of emergency systems such as lighting and communication devices, all performed during standard business hours Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The contractor must provide all labor, tools, transportation, spare parts, and materials, and must submit a detailed work plan, quality assurance plan, and site safety plan. Personnel must be pre-approved with biographic data and police clearances, receive U.S. government-issued ID cards, and adhere to strict access controls for restricted areas like machine rooms and hoistways. The contractor is solely responsible for quality control and must maintain a performance standard of no more than one customer complaint per month, with compliance monitored via a government quality assurance surveillance plan. The contract has a one-year base period with four optional one-year extensions, contingent on funding availability and government approval. Offerors must submit electronic proposals by May 11, 2026, including a completed SF-1449 form, proof of SAM registration, Defense Base Act insurance costs if applicable, and all required representations and certifications, with file sizes not exceeding 30MB per attachment.
