Kulite Pressure Gauge for ERDC GSL

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center awarded a firm-fixed-price, sole-source contract (W912HZ26PA020) to Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc. for the procurement of fifty modified Kulite Brand pressure sensors, item number XCL-IC-100-25A. The total award amount is $79,150.00, with a delivery schedule of 30 weeks from the date of award. These specialized sensors, featuring 0.5-inch-long probes, internal compensation, RTV-flushed cavities, and custom cabling, are required for measuring blast pressures in high-shock environments at the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The procurement was conducted as a sole-source acquisition under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) because Kulite's proprietary manufacturing process is the only system capable of maintaining consistency with historical testing data, which is critical for repeatable and accurate data collection during explosive research experiments.
