L--Technical Representative Services

The contract calls for a Cost Plus Fixed Fee agreement to provide life cycle support for the Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS) MK 1 and MK 2, as well as the Advanced Combat Direction System (ACDS) Block 1, spanning fiscal years 2004 through 2006. The support extends to multiple classes of naval vessels, including CV(N), LPD, LSD, and LHD ships. Additionally, the scope covers testing, certification, engineering design review (EDR) resolution, and deployment activities specifically for SSDS MK 2 on CV(N), LPD, and LHD class ships. Key enhancements such as performance modifications related to Open Architecture, Single Integrated Air Picture, human-machine interface (HMI) improvements, and Combat System upgrades are also included to ensure system modernization and operational effectiveness. This work is assigned to Raytheon Systems Company, Integrated Defense Systems in San Diego, CA, identified as the sole designer and manufacturer of the SSDS MK 2 technology. The contract emphasizes maintaining and upgrading the integrated defense systems on multiple ship classes, ensuring their sustained performance and adaptability to evolving defense requirements during the specified period. The initiative supports critical naval defense capabilities by ensuring the continuous operational readiness of self-defense and combat direction systems through comprehensive technical and engineering support.
