Solicitation HU0001-09-T-0005, issued by the Department of Defense agency USUHS, seeks the purchase of a new laboratory grade steam sterilizer for delivery to a loading dock in Bethesda, Maryland. The government has clarified that the offer should be for the raw purchase only, as the agency will handle its own installation, disconnection of old equipment, and delivery from the dock to the final room. Key technical requirements specify that the unit must be new and cannot exceed a width of 34 inches to ensure clearance through the installation doorway, with a preference for top or face mounted control panels. The government has removed the ISO 9001 certification requirement and will accept bids from distributors. Regarding materials, a unit with an all stainless steel chamber and stainless steel cabinet mounting is acceptable, provided it has a carbon steel jacket, as RO/Di water will not be used.
